SENIOR CO-CHAIR

Danielle Reay is the Collections Digitization Librarian at Lafayette College. She holds a BA in History from Drew University, a MA in Cinema Studies from NYU, and a MLIS with a concentration in Digital Libraries from Rutgers University

JUNIOR CO-CHAIR

Ying Hu is the Repository Services Librarian at the University of Missouri Libraries, where she manages the university’s institutional repository and its digital library. She specializes in digital curation, metadata standards, and repository workflows that support open access and scholarly communication. She attended SEI in 2024. She is passionate about mentoring, supporting colleagues and emerging professionals. She holds a B. A. and a M. A. in Art History and a MLIS from University of Missouri.

FACULTY AND CURRICULUM SPECIALIST

Chelcie Juliet Rowell’s career throughline is making digital special collections findable and usable for the purposes of scholarship, teaching, learning, artistic practice, and personal use. They currently serve as Digital Experience Manager at Boston Public Library.

FACULTY AND CURRICULUM SPECIALIST

Chanelle Pickens is an educator, independent researcher, and perpetual student of life and craft. Her career has spanned more than 20 years working in media, higher education, and GLAMs. She earned a BS in electronic media from the University of Tennessee, an MLIS from San Jose State University, and an MA in English and creative writing from Southern New Hampshire University. Chanelle has contributed her knowledge and skills to projects with organizations such as the Smithsonian Institution and the Wikimedia Foundation. As an instructional designer and instructor, she prioritizes activities that bridge the gap between learners and information. 

ADVISORY PAST CHAIR

L. Abby Houston is the Digital Initiatives Librarian at Hutchins Library of Berea College and co-creator of the bell hooks digital archive. She holds a Master of Library & Information Science and a Master of Arts in Art History from Syracuse University. Her research and teaching engage with digital humanities, information and media literacy, and trauma-informed care in academic libraries, special collections, and archives.
